Thank you for visiting my website. As you look through this site you will get an understanding of how I think about and practice therapy. From my perspective, the primary therapeutic tool is the relationship and fit between the client and the therapist. This relationship becomes a pathway for change to happen. If there is a good fit between the client and the therapist, a trusting, intimate relationship can develop and a safe space (in which defenses can be challenged and emotional experiences can emerge and be explored) can be created. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and negotiate these experiences and/or the challenges you may presently face. In therapy, we will explore experiences, perceptions, emotions, behaviors and interaction patterns that may cause distress, interfere in relationships or may hold you back from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
